This Privacy Policy explains how heatpeer_rclone ("we", "our", or "the Application") collects, uses, and safeguards information when you connect and synchronize data using Google Drive APIs.
1. Information We Access and Collect
heatpeer_rclone operates exclusively as a local client-side software tool:
- Google Account Credentials & Tokens: When authorizing via OAuth 2.0, the Application receives authentication tokens (Access Token and Refresh Token). These credentials are saved exclusively in your local configuration directory on your machine. We never access, capture, or store your Google password or personal profile data.
- File Content and Metadata: During sync operations, the Application inspects directory trees, file names, file sizes, modification times, and file hashes to perform comparison logic. The actual file contents are streamed directly between your local storage and Google Drive.
- No Telemetry or Tracking: We do not operate developer telemetry servers, analytics tracking, or user data harvesting services.
2. How We Use the Information
Google Drive API permissions are utilized solely to:
- Compare files between your designated local folders and Google Drive destination folders.
- Upload, download, rename, and delete files as specified by your active sync job settings.
3. Data Storage, Security, and Retention
- Local Machine Storage: All configuration profiles and OAuth tokens reside solely on your local workstation file system.
- No Middleman Servers: File transfers, API calls, and authorization requests take place directly with Google's servers over secure HTTPS/TLS encrypted connections.
- Revoking Access & Deleting Data: You can delete local configuration files at any time. You can also revoke heatpeer_rclone's access immediately from your Google Account Permissions Page.
4. Google API Services User Data Policy (Limited Use)
Google Limited Use Disclosure:
heatpeer_rclone's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties.
- We do not use Google user data for serving advertisements.
- We do not use Google user data to train generalized AI/ML models.
